At Amogha Foundation, we believe that tailoring training should go beyond learning a skill—it should create opportunities for women to earn, become confident and build sustainable livelihoods.
With this vision, we started our tailoring training programme and later took the next step towards establishing a production unit, where trained women could put their skills into practice and create income opportunities.
This initiative became possible with the financial support of my mentor and professor, Dr. Celina Joy, Pillai University, Mumbai, whose family members also contributed towards making this vision a reality. Their support was given in loving memory of Dr. Celina Joy’s mother Late Mrs.Margeret Mathen.
To honour her memory and the spirit behind this meaningful contribution, we named the initiative the “MM Tailoring Training Centre.”
For me, MM Tailoring Training Centre is more than a training centre. It is a step towards transforming skills into livelihoods, opportunities into independence, and support into lasting impact.
I am deeply grateful to Dr. Celina Joy and her family for believing in the vision of Amogha and helping us take this important step forward.
Our vision is to help more women move from learning to earning and towards a life of dignity and self-reliance.
