The football field came alive this season as our young players joined the AIFF Golden Baby League 2022, lining up alongside teams from academies across the region for a day built entirely around grassroots football. From Black Socks FA to Trivandrum FA and beyond, the turnout was a vivid reminder of just how much youth football has grown in our footballing community.
Events like the Golden Baby League matter because they’re often where the journey begins, a child’s first taste of what it feels like to wear a team jersey, walk out under a banner with their squad’s name on it, and compete in a real, organized match. It’s less about the scoreline and more about the exposure: learning teamwork, handling nerves, understanding structure, and building the kind of confidence that only comes from stepping onto a field with hundreds of other young players around you.
For us, days like this are a foundation-building exercise. Every child who takes part today is a step closer to becoming tomorrow’s confident, skilled footballer and it’s a privilege to be part of that process from this early a stage.
